The 50 hour service on my LX4900 looks fairly straight forward. I plan on doing it myself to save on labor. Anything I need to be warned about? Thank you

I am not sure as to your model tractor but make sure you look in the Hyd. filters. Mine had magnets in it. You'll need to clean them off and install into the new filter.

I'm also at the 50 hour mark on my LX4900, but haven't had the chance to do it yet.....the only thing I can add is what my dealer told me....which is if the hydro oil looks good, you don't need to change it, which is contrary to what the manual says. He said change all other fluids and all filters...U will have to add a bit of hydro oil from changing the filter.

If the book says to chang hydro fluid i would, you spent all that money on the tractor whats another $40?

OK, I'm not endorsing what the dealer said, just telling you what my very experienced dealer told me. I've bought the trans fluid already....which cost quite a bit more than $40. You can put cheap fluid in...or spend $$...where does it end?? :laughing:

The 50 hour service came complimentary when I bought my LX410. When it was ready for the 50 hour service the dealer came to my place and did it. He did not change the hydro fluid that I saw.

I did my 50hr service, I think the owners manual covers it pretty well.
The hydraulic oil looked surprisingly used when it came out of the sump. There are two drain plugs for the hydraulic oil. You'll want two 5 gallon buckets handy because you'll get more than 5 gallons out of one of the holes.
My fluids and filters were also provided at no extra cost from the dealer.
