Can anybody tell me if a Yanmar RS 1200 tiller would hook up to a standard class 1 3 point hitch. I looking to buy one for my Ford 1220 and want to make sure it's compatible.
I'm currently running a King Kutter 4 Ft brushhog with no problems. It's a 540 RPM CW PTO on the tractor.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about details I left out.
Thanks,
Curt

The RS 1200 tillers I have are 2-point. They mount on the rear of the tractor frame with special pins and have a very short drive shaft. It would be very difficult to convert to 3-pt.
Attached is a picture. Notice the pins on the mounting flange.

Curt,
I too have a RS1200 tiller and it's definately working on my TC18 with 3PT hook-up.
First pic.......notice the 2 lower pins and the top link connection point

Most RS1200's are 2-point, some are three-point. As Jim has stated, the 2-points are hard to convert, the three-points work once you get the correct length toplink and driveshaft.

Thanks for the help. I have a friend who believes anything can be made to fit anything if you're crafty enough. I believe he's right, but I'm just too lazy to make this any harder than it needs to be.

Thanks for all the help and posts, I've attached a pic of the one I'm looking at.

If that's the tiller you are looking at, it appears it already is set up for a 3-point. Should work fine if you get the driveshaft length right.

The only hard part will be getting the PTO shaft correct
The rest is already done /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
