Tiller Yanmar Tiller? How does this one look?

You could have had this one for a buck. I see that its been relisted. The one you show is missing some parts (gauge wheels: minor detail, though).

Well I was just trying to put the prices in comparison to answer your question about price and value. Maybe you could work out a meet me 1/2 way deal...

Looks like the tines are shot. They need to overlap or tilling will leave strips of untilled ground. Some of them look like they'e bent. At the least I'd find out how hard replacements are to find and what they will cost, it's easy to spend $175-200.

There's very little on the internet when searching on that model number, if repair parts are limited to used that's kind of scary.

Overall it looks pretty rough, and the price doesn't seem to reflect that. I really like to see and hear something like that run. I have a feeling there is a reason this one is on eBay.

It's a POS.
I bought a 48" wide Yanmar RS1200 tiller in 2006 for $300 that is in much better shape than that beater you're eyeballing.



Who knows what's under all that rust.

Google spalding tractors in GA. Talk to steve. That is if your near here. He lists on craigs list. He sells good tillers that look redone for just like $100 more than that for a reference. Most will say 100$/ft for good condition tiller, yanmar that is.

The tines on this tiller are shot and are expensive to replace if you can find them. Grey market tillers come in free with all Yanmar tractors. $300 would be a fair price. Ken Sweet

That's the kind of craziness I saw when looking for a used tiller for several years. I finally gave up and ordered a new tiller last week. I can't imagine my tiller ever getting as worn out as that Yanmar looked.

They wear, but you fix them. I can't imagine dragging it across the ground and seeing strips of grass still and not realizing the only thing you were doing was wasting time and fuel.

Tillers always seem to go up in price during spring thaw that's my experience anyway.

I ended up buying a new one, the used ones were just too much money for something that probably has a thousand hours and still half price of new. my 2c

Now tiller has been upgraded so the UFO auto depth and tilt control are operational. Don't use the gauge wheels often.

Wow, I like all the options on the tail of that thing. Have you used it to shape beds?
