Yanmar tiller on BX-22, will the PTO shaft fit?

I'm considering a used 52" yanmar tiller for my bx-22. I've read a lot of posts on here about some attachments needing to have the pto shaft shortened to fit a bx-22, and I have also been told that the pto shaft on the yanmar tillers is too short for some tractors.
It sounds like the right combination, but does anyone know for sure?

P.S. I've read the postings about tillers in the yanmar forum but found nothing conclusive.

I suspect you will need to checkfit it on your machine to know for sure.

For example, I bought a new Bush Hog tiller with my new BX2200. Dealer set it up by cutting the PTO shields/shaft to the proper length.

Then I added Pat's easy change system (a great deal, BTW), but that moved my tiller back about 4" or so. One time I was tilling and the rear wheels went over a mount of dirt, letting the tiller lower even more. The PTO shaft came apart!

I went to a drive line repair shop (for big trucks) and they cut me a chunk of PTO tube about 4" longer than my old one.

I measured the open / closed lengths that would fit, by raising and lowering the 3PH and measuring.

The new tube chunk cost me <$20. (Its about $50 a 4 foot stick at TSC).

So if the PTO coupler fits, I wouldn't be afraid to buy it and make a new length PTO shaft and shields.

You really need to check the measurements though, as you could break/damage parts of the tiller or tractor if the PTO shaft bottoms out.

I'm going to take my tractor with me to try the tiller for fit. As far as changing the length of the pto shaft, can I assume that because it rotates so slow that perfect balance is not an issue? I mean, if I cut the tube and weld it myself and it's not perfectly aligned tube-to-tube, is that a big deal?
