I just bought a 48" yanmar tiller for my 1610d. I tried to install it and it seems too close to the rear tires and the top link seems too long. If any one has any ideas or pictures, that would be great. If I extend the lower area where the bottom pins hook up it seems like it will work. Thanks a bunch, R

The yanmar tillers do set very close to the rear tires. It should raise and lower without hitting the tires but will set very close.
I always spend an hour trying to get that thing connected up.
THe pto shaft is so short there is no room to get my american sized body down in there to hook things up.

You are going to need the original Yanmar 2-piece top link for use with those tillers. The majority of those grey market tillers will not allow the use of a normal toplink. If you try, the front of the tiller hits the tractors tires. Another option is adding brackets and moving the lower lift pins on the tiller about 6" forward. This will allow you to use a regular toplink. Of course you will also need a longer PTO shaft. Attached is a picture of a moded tiller.

Yanmar has a special center link that bolts to the tractor. This bracket moves the pivot point back 8-10 " and keeps it away from the wheels. I sold my yanmar a year ago, but kept the bracket and install it on my Kubota for tilling.

Hey, thanks for that pic. I have one of these tillers too and hadn't tried to hook it up and use it yet cause I wasn't sure how to attach it. That really helps...........

In your photo what is the device on the pto shaft. Is it a thing like you use for a bushhog to let it freewheel. Also what should be the adjustment of the threaded shortarm link between the bracket mounted on the tractor and the tiller. thanks Paul

Here is picture of my 48" yanmar tiller connected to my 2015. Since I have a hydraulic top link, I modified the old one to about 11" between the centers of the overall lenght. Hope this helps.
