Yanmar vs. Duetz in Fecons

anyone know the history or reasons Fecon switched from Duetz to Yanmar engines in the FTX-90's?

seems like the newest ones have the Yanmar...

and the new FTX-100 has a Kubota in it....

I looked at getting a Rayco (makes them for FECON) and many many seemed to have new engines between 500 - 1000 hours. Overheating seemed to be the reason.

jb is right the first engines had problems so they were replaced and resumed production with the yanmar.

Not overheating down right blowing up! I have a friend who has putting his fourth engine in his FTX-90!!!!!!(only 1600 hours)

Fecon put junk in them! The Yanmar is supposed to be better.

Because the small Deutz Fahr tractors also have Yanmars in them? Thats the best reason I know of. The old air cooled deutz's didn't meet some standards either noise or pollution that are current.

Schwartz I am held up in production, the Kodiak is due in two or three weeks. I added a few things that are not as easy to get built as I thought they would be. The dealer did not want to order the machine with all of the special options until I had a good chance to test the Kodiak grinder given the horrible bad luck I suffered with the Fecon FTX-140. The Prentice is waiting on the FAE head since I decided to go with that rather than the Fecon Head.
