First timer with many questions on my new purchase..

1. Where can I find a service manual for YM146?
2. Where can I find parts?
3. Is there a parts list out there I can download?

Looking at various web sites, the YM146 is never listed as a model choice. There really is not much out there.

3. The engine purrs like a kitten and is quieter than I thought it would be. Although the mowing unit is super loud. Is this normal or are there bearings that need to be replaced? I did grease it, but made no difference. It has 1600 hours on it.

4. Also, has anyone tried porting the exhaust so that it exits the rear of tractor, am not sucking diesel exhaust that is right in front of me?

I think I have a factory YM146 Service manual in my Yanmar collection. I doubt I'll ever use it. On the noisy mower, I'd look for the cause. Bearings?

Welcome to TBN. There are manufacture specific forums and Yanmar is one of them further down on the list. There are several dealers there that i am sure can help you with manual. There are lots of knowledgeable people there too for advice and help.

Mowers are noisy, but extreme noise could be spindle bearings that are going out or bearings in the gear box that are worn. you said that you greased the spindles (I asume) what about the oil in the gear box?

Again welcome aboard.

Does this have the multi speed PTO? Maybe you had it in too high of a gear? Mine got quite noisey when I mistakenly ran it at 1000 rpm instead of 540. Cut like a bear tho......:D
