I'd be curious why a tractor with that few hours had so many parts replaced. Otherwise it sounds like a pretty good deal.
Yes, good point on the hours. That 600 to 900 hour range seems common on gray market tractors. I've heard the theory that in some of the countries these gray market tractors come from, used tractor age & hours has to do with a sort of reverse depreciation schedule in the country of origin. We don't have that here on used equipment, but some countries do. Whether such a policy really affects used tractors here is kind of a guess.
Other possibilities is that it is just a 3 digit hourmeter and rolls over at 999. Or that the hours are deliberately set. 800 isn't many.
The parts are interesting....Alternator, steering box, water pump ... those are not parts that normally wear out until high hours, they aren't really related to one another, and they aren't related to hard useage. Like I said, interesting.
On a used tractor with a few implements for that price what you really hope is it looks OK, everything works, and runs well. If it needs anything - like tires - then the price goes down accordingly. But honestly, you can buy a lot more tractor...and I would advise anyone to do so if they can afford it. But the next step up is 20 something hp (this one is 16), 4wd, and a front end loader. And for that used combo the price and competition are going to be twice as high or more.
And this tractor can do a lot of work if it works at all. Yanmar is a real popular brand in the older used compact tractor market.
