I recent purchased a yanmar ym3000, so far I love the tractor but have had the problem with it overheaing. Any one out there have a solution to my problem...

Have you tried to clean the screen in front of the radiator? Use compressed air and carefully blow the dust out of the radiator.

Not yet the guy I brought it from send me a new temp sending unit I going to try both solution...

Also check the exhaust system. I sold an YM2610D a few years back and the owner called me after he had used it for about 5 hours and said it was smoking very heavy and had no power. I quick call to the distributor found that the internal parts of the muffler on these tractors sometimes collapses partially (they are 30 years old), or in my case completely. A partial blockage may cause some excess heating. Good luck! I hope it is just the gauge

My dads 2610 will overheat after using it high weeds. We have to pull the radiator out and flush it. We have a plastic 55 gallon drum that will fill with water and soak the entire thing in. I then take it and blow water through the fins/core. You'd be suprised how much gets through the screen.

Maybe you need a smaller screen. I bought the screen for my L2500, not the nice slide up and down type like on the newer models. It's about the size of door screen but has really helped me keep the stuff out of the fins. Just a stick or bush to knock the stuff off now and I'm back to mowing.
