yanmr 336d brakes

does any body know the o'ring size for the brake cam shaft to seal the brake cover and are there two of them on a 336d tractor . like in the video on hoye tractor thank you bob .

My 336D parts book lists them as size 28-P (aka P28), one per side at the lever-shaft through the outer cover.

PS / FYI - Mine is original but Hoye has the parts manual repro MANUALS: Yanmar Tractor Parts - with 'blow-up diagrams' of every assembly in the tractor plus 'generic / industry standard' size info in the description tables for many items such as most O-rings, fasteners, threaded hydraulic plugs, etc. it's an invaluable resource.

thank you but I was looking for the actual size . hoye web site does not list it nor did I receive them with there brake kit. I do have there repair Manuel at home . but I am at work hoping to require the at the local hardware store/ so I don't think that 28-p will help me or p28 but who knows maybe I will ask thank you bob.

P28 is an industry standard size system for metric o-rings, not a Yanmar PN - use this link to get the inch-equivalent or mm-equivalent complete dimensions (enter p28 in the "Size" box at the top of the chart - yields ID, OD, and x-section)

Or, enter "p28 o-ring" in google to get plenty of sources for true JIS o-rings

PS - for NH you might want to forego the sexy Viton options - it gets hard and brittle at -5*F, good-old butyl is good for -25*F, high-temp not being an issue for this application.

hey thank you for the info. I wonder why hoye tractor did not include them with the kit . found out Sunday I did not need the kit. one was wet from moisture the other clogged with dust. vent tubes seem to be clear no mud wasps this time .just were out of adjustment . I thought 4 years ago they were pretty worn . but compared to the refurbished one from hoye tractor they have the same amount of pad . but thank you for all your help bob. PS is the a equivalent to john Deere 336d to ? that you know of .

Sorry, I've no idea about Yanmar > Deere parts criss-cross at all.

No comment on what's in Hoye kits but in my experience they list what's included in the item description - if something was missing I'm sure they'd make that right ASAP (ONE time they missed packing an item in one of my orders even though charged for it - they dropped the item in the priority mail to me ASAP with no additional shipping of course).

I'm not really sure why those were not originally a part of the kit but I have just added the o-rings to the kit's contents. I do appreciate the suggestion.

The 336 and the JD 950 were "similar" but not everything cross fits.

Only in recent years has there been any concept of crossover JD/Yanmar parts, and that has apparently only come about by "word of mouth" . .. no factory help.
