Most places have similar policies....on a side note...If anyone (most of use that still have land lines do) uses cordless telephones...there are a couple of different way those cordless phones can inadvertently dial 911...!

one is a faulty battery and the other is moisture getting into the hard line connections...

Be aware, if this happens you can expect a visit from the PD etc...and if they are not satisfied with talking to someone at the door of have any suspicions...they can come in and search your entire house without any type of warrant etc...

I was on ride alongs with the Sheriff's department and this happened twice... it was the right house and all...

Both times the people home were quite startled... one was actually having a heated argument... each blamed the other for calling 911 and one had just got off the phone from calling South America.

Guess they call it probable cause.

Re: google map addresses. When looking one up take the result with a grain of salt. My address comes up 7 miles from where it really is and on the wrong side of town.

In my friends case Googling his address takes you to his competitor.
We assume it is just a Google quirk and not caused by the competitor, but very frustrating just the same.

The county FD had street # signs made and sold them to homeowners. I've got mine hanging below my mailbox out on the road. My place is identified by all as a street name and number. Only 911 knows my name and I'm sure in the event of a 911 call they will pass my name on to the contacted service.
