At times I need a trailer to haul stuff around the farm.

The lawn tractor has a small trailer that seems a bit stupid to attach to the kioti tractor..i think the bucket holds more than the little trailer.

So what are my options? What have you done/used and what works/doesn't work well?

I use one of the smaller HF 40x48 trailers. Worked up a wire fence deck for it to haul firewood, but I can add a different type box on top if it if I need to move loose stuff.

I have a 5’ x 8’ single axle landscape trailer that is tagged for the road that is used behind the tractor if I’m picking up brush around the yard or whatnot...

I made my own 5x10 ~ with a running gear from northern tools and some used dimensional lumber.

I built an 8'x12' farm wagon. I bought brand new Horst ten ton running gear. It was a lot of fun building this wagon. I downloaded a set of plans from the internet and used them as a guide. Rather that two single 2x12 main joists I doubled this and have two doubled 2x12 main joists. The cross members are treated 6 x 6 posts. The floor is a double layer of 5/4 T & G plywood. I can pull it empty with my ATV. When loaded I use my Kubota M6040.

My only problem - being a farm wagon with steerable front wheels - I''m still learning how to back it up straight. This is mainly overcome by planning ahead. I drive into a situation with a preplanned exit that will allow me to drive forward to exit.

Are you looking to get by inexpensively and just lighter duty off the road stuff, or would you like to be able to legally run it over the road as well? Are you using it mostly in the open, or do you need to pull it down some winding woods trails? Both those considerations will have a lot of influence on what you end up with.

Your CK3510 is similar in size to my NH TC33D. 5 or so years ago, I bought a Polar Trailer model 8262 to pull behind my Coot (an antique ATV - sort of a precursor to a Gator or similar). The trailer is rated at 1500#, has a walking arm suspension and a manual dump (that is well balanced for dumping by hand). It is a very good match for the Coot. I've hauled gravel, dirt, firewood, tools in it. Prior to that purchase, I had been using an old Rubbermaid cart, but that doesn't hold much. Shown here with the optional side extenders and ball hitch installed:

It's small enough that I can pull it behind my Garden tractor, if I don't load it too heavy. I figured I could use the Polar behind my tractor if I didn't have a need for something bigger - it's definitely too small to make good use of the tractor's towing ability, but handy if I just need to move a few things and don't have room in the bucket (or don't have the bucket on). The pin hitch would not fit the tractor drawbar, but works well with one of those draw bars that goes between the the lower 3 pt arms. I've since converted it to 2" ball hitch (simple bolt on conversion, no drilling or welding). It's on sale at Northern Tool fairly regularly, especially if you are an Advantage member (currently $110 off and free shipping).

Polar model 8233 is identical except that it has a single wheel on each side and is significantly less expensive. It's also easier on your lawn, if you care about that (I don't). The Walking arm model 8262 sometimes scrubs a little going around tight turns on the lawn. The model 8233 can be converted to an 8262 by just ordering the walking arm parts. You can switch back and forth between the two set-ups without tools.

Depending on your usage, there are trailers out there that are a far better match for your CK3510, but if you want it to do double duty behind lighter equipment as well, it may be an option.

I ended up also buying a 3500# rated dump trailer to use behind my tractor. If I add lights, I can make it street legal. I just haven't gotten around to that yet. Since buying that, I almost never use the Polar behind my tractor anymore (the dump trailer is narrow enough that it makes through the woods fairly easily)

i like it.
i considered a harbor freight 4x8 but with only 2 wheels it can suck to park it loaded. I had a 4x4 harbor freight one and have their boat trailer (used it for canoes..it's my road trailer now..not ideal by any means but i have it..).

the 4x4 is too small for the farm. the boat trailer i've used...loaded the tounge is way too heavy (it's long, like a boat trailer..duh).

Have considered rebuilding it...but can get a 1700lb 4x8 from HF for $350 ish, plus deck, sides, etc. Checking to see what other options there are...

A 4 wheel 'hay wagon' is what I was thinking, but hay wagons are not cheap.

I put a flatbed on my truck last fall and love it WAY more than a pickup bed..so I like that idea, and it's all flat over the wheels, unlike the HF and most small trailers - making side access difficult.

Does it need to dump...well, if I pick up one end with the loader it will dump, right? LOL

I use this old 4x8 that I recently re-decked. Good size behind my tractor or RTV.
