So I have come into possession of a Yazoo YHRLD211 commercial front cut rider mower with a 6' deck, powered by a Kubota D722 diesel. The machine itself is really not in bad shape, but the electrical system is all hacked up. Im trying to figure out a few things in order to just fabricate my own simple electrical system....starter, fuel shutoff, charge battery, light glowplugs, maybe have a coolant temp and oil pressure gauge. The engine fires and runs nicely, no smoke etc.
1 - There are 2 wires, same color, coming out of the tiny little alternator (generator?) on the Kubota motor. What do I need to do with these to get it charging the battery?
2 - The glowplugs on the motor seem to work, but Im not really familiar with how glowplugs *should* work. I connected 12V to the glowplug connector and they draw 2 amps for a couple seconds, then nothing. Does anyone have a link for a generic glowplug timer that I could wire into the start circuit? The ones I see on Amazon all seem to be specific application and have no wiring diagrams.
3 - I have searched and am unable to find anything in the way of a wiring diagram for this mower. Any suggestions?
Im open to any suggestions or advice on this project beast.
