Has anyone ever ordered a manual for their tractor from Yesterday's Tractors? If not, I just did.
I ordered the Parts Manual for my 98' 231 Massey Ferguson. I sure hope its an OEM manual. It is 226 pages long and it costed a total of $41.95 mailed to my door.

Their website is Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Antique Tractor Headquarters

They were the cheapest I found. But I sure hope i didn't get the "cheapest" manual! (if that makes sense)

Let me know when you get the manual. To compare it to a original MF manual got to the thread here on noisy trans. on a MF 1045. I scanned and posted the sections on clutch and trans and specs. from a shop manual I paid $85 for from the dealer in 1986. That will give you a way to compare your new manual with a "original". Let us know what you think after comparing the two; I am sure many of us including myself would be interested in knowing. Thanks.

I'd like to see one of their manuals to compare it to OEM. I'd guess it is a reprint. If so, possibly it is as good. OEM has suppliments that update obsolete parts and their new replacement #'s. Both the original manual and the suppliments are copyrighted. I'd be suprised if anyone was allowed to copy page for page without Massey's consent, but stranger things have happened.

Travis:

I bought an operator's manual for a Ford 4000 from YT a couple of years ago.

It turned out to be a spiral bound photocopy of a Jensales manual, which was, itself an exact copy of the Ford operators manual.

I have since discovered that I could have bought the original Ford operators manual from CNH for less than I paid for the Jensales copy.

It is a "spiral bound" JENSALES manual. Got it in today. It took 12 long days to get it. From what it looks like, it has the older numbers along with the new ones. On the front cover of the manual, it states as follows:

"THIS IS A MANUAL PRODUCED BY JENSALES INC. WITHOUT THE AUTHORIZATION OF MASSEY HARRIS MASSEY FERGUSON OR IT'S SUCCESSORS. MASSEY HARRIS MASSEY FERGUSON AND IT'S SUCCESSORS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY OR ACCURACY OF THIS MANUAL."

Then is has a small statement underneath the above paragraph about trademarks.

With all this said, I have to say that I am completely satisfied with the manual. I went to jackssmallengines.com and typed in a few part numbers- just to see if they were accurate. Everything was correct.
