Here''s something for y'all to look at:

Williy,

Well this thread took a hard right into left field.

I wonder if Ford has been making the propane conversions for UPS and possibly FedEx and the engine in your video is the extension of those lessons learned.

Lets take this thread in a totally new direction.:D

My hunting buddy owns the local propane dealership and runs all his delivery trucks (Cummins propane engines) as well as his company service trucks and his personal pickup 2021 GMC V8 on propane and I've driven it and you cannot tell the difference until you walk around the back and smell the propane stink from the exhaust pipe.

He has a 100 gallon bottle mounted in the bed under a tonneau. 2 years we took it to Nebraska for a hunt and there was no difference in power or fuel mileage at all. It's a 350 V8 and it honks on propane.

Cummins has been building propane oilfield engines for some time.

In the winter he has to start it on regular gas but once it warms up, he's on propane. It's cheaper per gallon, runs cleaner and other than the smell, it's all good.

The propane delivery trucks I wrenched on in the 70s all ran on propane. It was amazing how clean the inside the engines were when we took them apart...spotless.

No new technology despite what the Ford guy says and I'd never have one of those engines in the first place.. Did Godzilla ever puke spark plugs? Those engines do. You cannot reinvent the wheel when that 'wheel' has been around for at least 25 years. I remember going to the Louisville Truck show at least 20 years ago and Cummins had a whole raft of propane engines on display. My buddy has the smaller displacement propane inline 6's ISX engines in his delivery trucks.

You don't get the hydrocarbon blowby with propane that blackens the motor oil. They do run clean.
