yet another oil question....

Hey Folks,
If this has been addressed before, humor me bit.
My 2360 is coming up on an engine oil change( in my mind). For years I've used Rotella T synthetic in about all my "utility stuff". ( with good results)
As I recall, Rotella is an API CJ4. The manual states, in the note section, not to use CJ4 in Kubota engines ?
I would like to stay with a synthetic, given the cold temps in my area.
Does anyone have a suggestion for an oil ?

The manual for my 2006 BX2350 (before CJ oils) recommends using CD, CD or CF when used with a high sulfur fuel. CF-4 or CG-6 is not recommended but if used, must be changed at shorter intervals when used with high sulfur fuels. Since Oct. 1, 2010, all on-road and off-road diesel fuel in Canada, except for rail and marine applications, must be ULSD so that's not a problem.

I'm curious about the CJ issue as well since I stocked up when Rotella was on sale.

Oil ratings get outdated. Printed manuals go out of date very quickly. EPA or Environment Canada set new standards all the time, the oil companies respond with new and differing formulated products. Of course, Kubota doesn't have its own oil company and merely have Ashland (Valvoline) or someone else's oil products re-labeled.

For me, Rotella T-6 full synthetic would be fine, as would the T-5, 10w-30 semi-synthetic. I don't know, I'm using these products and sleep very well at night.

I've used a bunch of Rotella in the past but with this machine (2011) I thought I'd try to comply with the Mfg. recommendations.
I guess I'd like to know what the issue is with Kubota and CJ4.....
