Yet Another Set Of Bucket Hooks

I was planning on working on my rear blade project today, but ended up putting hooks on my bucket instead.

Got some 3/8" grade 70 hooks on sale. They had a clevis end with pin for attaching to a chain, but I trimmed them down so they were flat on the back to weld to the bucket.

This pic is one of the hooks in original form (sorry the picture is out of focus - I was too close for the camera to focus and it was hard to tell on the little camera LCD)

Here is the trimmed hook, ready to weld on (sorry, another one out of focus)

Figuring out exactly where to place the hooks. I put the ones on the ends of the bucket at a 15 degree angle inwards so when there is a chain wrapped around something between the two hooks, the chain won't be pulling sideways on the hooks quite as much.

Paint removed and all cleaned up ready to weld. I tell you it wasn't the easiest thing to take a grinder to part of a brand new machine /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Last pic. All 3 hooks primed and waiting for JD green. I have to run into town to get the green paint tomorrow but that will give the primer a chance to cure a bit first anyway. You can use your imagination and just pretend they are green right now. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
