All,
So, after draining, cleaning, and refilling my transmission and transmission filter I went to start my YM1610D and it would not start. It started the week before, but now the starter will not engage the flywheel.
What I've done:
- Charged the battery & used fresh external
- Pulled the starter and checked the wiring (starters good)
- Checked the solenoid (solenoid engages)
- put everything back together.
No matter what I do the bindle wont engage the flywheel. I haven't been able to move the flywheel manually and when I pulled the starter i could see some fresh wear on the teeth and metal shavings (not major chunks or missing teeth though). Is this a flywheel issue? Can I rotate the flywheel/engine to expose fresh teeth? Would there be another Issue that would keep the flywheel from moving or the starter from engaging?
Any pertinent advice would be appreciated. I don't have the land I used to, but I'd like to get this back into operation.
Backstory: First time tractor owner, it came with the land (no manuals, no instructions). Came with a leaking head gasket, got that repaired, moved, and it has sat for a while.
