Bluest -
Yes it is a bit crazy that we use half metric. I am assuming at some point we will change at great expense the signs around the country. Or just change them as we replace and put both miles and KM on them.

Any helpful advice, suppliers, engineers or anything for a UK Yanmar owner? Well nearly anyway, it is finally being delivered on Thursday (fingers crossed).

Thanks.

Hope you have an uneventful delivery. Start a thread with some pics when you have it. What will you be using it for?

As for parts suppliers on this side of the Atlantic, not had much luck. I can only seem to get the occasional filter and other generic bits in the UK. I found this place in Holland which lists quite a few parts but I haven't spent any money with them yet. Tracpartz | Partz to get you back on Trac

I have bought from Hoye, they were very good and stock a lot of bits, but by the time you add shipping and 20% import you can convert the dollar price straight into pounds and add a bit more besides.

I hope it comes on Thursday, it has been delayed as I have been waiting for a loader to arrive and be fitted. So it is 2 weeks later than originally quoted but despite being like a child waiting for christmas I am coping.
I have bought it from James at Small Tractors and Farm Machinery | Compact Tractors | JJCFM Compact Tractors
He is extremely knowledgeable about all things tractor and persuaded me to buy a Yanmar rather than a Kubota due to the ease of working on them should something need doing. When deciding I also enquired about parts and he said he could get anything we wanted and could even get a new cylinder head within 3 days.
If you ever need anything then you should probably give him a call, he was working on an F16D when I was there last week, and they fix anything so I am sure they could you help you source parts even if they didn't supply them. I will have a look at the Dutch place though in case I ever need them.

I will be using it to help turn a large field into a large garden, moving and collecting horse manure, turning and carrying compost, moving soil, carrying pallets of (insert anything here....blocks, sand, cement, stone, plants, turf, everything), helping with our home grown veg, ploughing, tilling, cultivating, and anything else I can think of for it to do. Riding the kids around in the transport box most likely.
I want to use it to mow the lawn also but am looking for a second hand flail collector mower as I want to keep the lawn clippings as they are very useful for compost. That might take me a while though as I don't want to spend £3.5k on a mower collector! But I don't want to have a Yanmar tractor and a Countax mower just for mowing grass.

Thanks.

It's good to know there is someone in the country who knows about these tractors. The guy I bought mine from didn't know much about it I don't think. Neither did I, hence why I'm fixing all the little problems I should have spotted before I bought it.

Hello 6thgpSF,

how much can you carry on your forks attached to a FEL?

I am guessing not as much as I could on the 3PH but still useful.

Also what FEl do you have, the same as me or something else? VTek1A is my FEL.

Thanks.

I've carried 6-10foot black locust posts w/them.the key is to carry as low to the ground as you can.low and slow.I've got a Koyker80.it's rated at500lbs with a breakout force of 900lbs.the further out you carry a load w/forks the less poundage you can haul, thats especially true w/clamp ons.the 3pt can lift my 800# finish mower. If I'm hauling something heavy on the front I use a counter weight on the back.by the way your tractor is very nice....russ

Thanks Russ, it is a good looking machine.

I think I will get some forks for the rear so that it takes more weight.

Thanks everyone.

I had a 1702 d with a Koyker 120 loader that I used Payne clamp on forks with. I could lift more than I felt It I should be lifting. Plus u can lift much higher with the front end loader. I also ran them on a 1401( I think). With the Koyker 80 loader. They were very usefull. Just make sure u use enough counter weight on rear.
