YM 2000
A friend and I purchased YM2000s and think they are great. Last week he rolled his, and how he did it is a little scary. Was cleaning up storm damage with a box blade and a log turned. One of the back tires went up on the log. BAM!! The tractor rolled over. He wasn't hurt but a little scared.

As everyone knows, there's not much of a wheel base on these tractors so be carefull.

If you haven't already done so, you need to reverse your rear wheels, (move side to side), to gain a little wider stance and still keep the wheels pointed in the right direction.

Glad he is okay. I turned and swapped around my tires and filled them on my 1700 and it makes big difference. I sometimes get nervous using the box blade with a good load in it. I always keep my clutch foot ready. I have had the front wheels off the ground just a little a couple of times and it was scary. I also take it real slow when dragging stuff like that.

I never realized how dangerous tractor can be till I got one. I have had mine for about a year now and still feel like a newbie.

If you are going to put water in your tires stay below the center .If you fill the tires all the way to the top then it gets top heavy .

The above is just plain wrong. See links below.

If you live in level ground do what you want .But it you live in the hills as I do stay below the center of the wheel .I don't care what Firestone or any one else says 44 wide to a 48 wide with the water all the way to the top will get top heavy do the math will a level and you will see, been there done that I know .

The best thing that you can do for stability is put the rear wheels at the widest point and fill the tires to ABOVE the rim and / or put on wheel weights. You will be totally amazed at the difference that it will make.

OK, I concede.

It was time for me to leave anyway.

LMTC.. don't feel bad... As many years as i have been around tractors.. I have never seen it advised to fill tires to LESS than 'above' the rim'.

Gizmo can do what he wants with his own tractor.
