YM 2000 will not start

I turned off my YM2000 and about 2 minutes later it would not start (I had been using it for an hour or more). It appears the key switch has gone bad. Has anyone had this problem before? How is the best way to make sure it is the key switch and where do I buy a new switch? I am located in East Tennessee. Thanks!

When you say it won't start, are you meaning it won't crank over? If so, I would jump the starter at the solenoid and see if she cranks. If it does then you can look at the switch and/or wiring for the problem.

It will not do any thing. The lights will not come on, it will not click the starter, the charge light nor the temp. light will not come on when the key is turned on. The battery which is new checks ok (12 + volts). In the off position I have 12 + volts at one terminal of the switch. The fuses look ok and I checked continuity of them and they seem ok. It acts as though the switch does not do anything.

That is sounding like key switch problems.

Locate the ignition wire ( which powers your solenoid) on the key switch, and jump power ( you said one terminal did have power ), and check there.. if it cranks over, the rest of the wiring in line is good.

You can either get a replacement from one of the dealers here, and if you have thermostart, I would, otherwise, there are many generic key switches available that will do what you need..
