I am trying to decide between purchasing a YM 2420 and a Iseki TL 2100 and would appreciate any input that would help me make this choice. The YM 2420 has more hours than the TL2100. I would appreciate any input concerning the YM2420 and its reliability and ease of obtaining parts.

Thanks

Both are nice, durable tractors. You will really like the powershift on the Yanmar. The parts are a little (lot) more time consuming to get for the Iseki. Most have to be imported or salvaged. I doubt that the difference in the hours will be enough to make a difference in the decision.

I have had a 2420 for 2 years and couldn't be happier. It has a close american cousin and parts are fairly easy to find but I haven't needed anything. The powershift on the column is great. I would highy and I mean highly recommend the 2420 over any Iseki.

Thank you for your input concerning the 2420. I appreciate that especially now that I have purchased the Yanmar 2420. I purchased one from Stan Hoye with a tiller, post hole digger, box blade and a Roto Brush Hawg cutter. I have had it for about three weeks and couldn't be more pleased. Mr. Hoye was just wonderful with me during the purchase and delivered it to me almost immediately. I can't begin to express how great they were to deal with, especially during all of my confused decessiion making.

I have used it quiet a bit already and have been very, very pleased. I am putting in another orchard and can already tell you that the post hole digger has made planting trees a dream and the tiller has really helped to prepare the ground. This is going to be nice compared to doing it all slowly by hand.

I wanted to also have a dirt scoop, but he was out of them. I will check with him and get one later.

Again, thank you for your input and after using this machine for about three weeks you are all right about these "bad boys." You said it has a close American cousin, which one is that?

Thanks again,

Flattman

The 2420's cousin is the YM 276. Thet are very close. I bought a manual and a parts catalog on ebay for the 276 and haven't ran across much difference.

The biggest obvious difference is where the powershift is located. On the early YM276's it is in the deck like my 2310 where the later 276's have it on the steering column like the 2420. Also more pto speeds with the 2310-2420 and standard grey vs US market differences etc.

Mr. Hoye gave me an owner's manual for the 2420 when I purchased it...that has been very helpful also... I felt very comfortable and fortunate to have been guided by the information and input from reading both current and past post on this NET... I felt that I wound up with an honest dealer, fair price and good product...Life should always be that nice...

Now that I have a few hours of "Stick Time" on the tractor, I am very pleased with it and look forward to learning much more via this talk net...

Thanks again guys...Your appreciated...
