Ok so here is my problem. Got a ym3110 and fully refurbished it and now I'm down to the last thing, the tires. The tractor has 12.4 x 26 tires and I have been unable to locate this size anywhere. So this is the question.

1. Was thinking about 13.6 x 26......seems like they cost more and limited makers. Are these an easier tire to get?

2. Upgrading to a 12.4 x 28 tire. Size is easy and cheap to get but I need to upgrade my wheels and I have no idea on what would work. Wheels I have found have loops rather than L brackets.

Has anyone else ran into this issue and know of a good fix. I like the idea of the bigger wheels just for ease of finding tires later if I need new tires again

Thanks for any help on this

The 13.6x26 is a much easier tire to get than the 12.4-26 but neither is quite as common as the 12.4-28. I can get the 12.4-28 in 4 different brands right now. The 13.6x26 is around $100 more per tire than the 28. If you plan to keep the tractor a long time and go through more than 1 set of tires it might pay off to get a set of 28" wheels made at places like heywheel.com and go to the 28".

The 3110 had the factory option of either a 12.4-26 or 12.4-28.

Just noticed this was your first post... welcome to the board!

Hope that helps.

Welcome aboard! That's a nice tractor. Congrats on the refurbishing. Hoyt certainly knows his business and won't steer you wrong. Many times it comes down to preference versus economy. Some like the Yanmar for the high quality, and others like the economy. It's nice to have both in the same package. My preference on tires is to go to a smaller diameter and wider footprint to enhance the stability and traction - that's where I think compacts need the most help. Which means that the ground and weather where you'll use it makes a big difference. I've got a well-known bias towards turfs :), but that has nothing to do with grass. It's because I live on a rocky hard baked hillside and have an aversion to cleat marks on the little bit of soft moist ground that we do have. Again, it's preference for how you'll use it. Maybe if you give us an idea of the purpose we can help.
