Experienced a rapid hydraulic fluid loss via the rear driveline connection.

I removed the housing tube and there is a rubber grommet like seal and a grease seal both loose behind the housing flange.

Never worked on this prior.

Pulled the drain plug lower than the axle driveline connection and the fluid appears very clean.

I am guessing the next step is to drop the driveline and inspect the driveline to differential connection to see why the seal failed.

Any advice is welcome.

Just refill with J20C specification hydraulic fluid. aka, Deere Hy-Gard or Yanmar TF500 or and brand stating to MEET and exceeds J20C, never compatible with.

When you see oil leaking out that front drive shaft cover, the first problem is figuring out if it is coming from the front axle or the transmission. Sounds like you already know, but check the axle oil anyway. Front axles can take all night to drain the lowest parts right inboard of the wheel.

If your changing transmission oil, be sure to clean the cleanable filter as well as replace the spin-on.
And as far as "appropriate oil", if you have power shift it makes more sense to use the name brand special oils like Bmaverick recommends above rather than O'Reilly's.

Update:
Replaced the seal, everything has been working great.
Found a Yanmar group on FB, knowledgeable owner cross referenced the seal over to National for local availability.
"The number on the seal is AE2359H. I crossed it over to a National 473677. The Autozone Duralast 473677 does not fit. This one from Amazon worked: https://www.amazon.com/National-473677-Oil.../dp/B000C5LIN6
