Too much anti freeze in your water/antifreeze mix can cause those little rascals to get hot........There are some recent threads about this......

The thermosyphon system won't work well with the normal automotive mix of 50/50 antifreeze to water. It requires a mix of 60/40 (60% water/40% antifreeze) or less.

I use a 66/33 mix because that is easy and it works. Just get a 5 gal water can at Walmart and mark it Antifreeze so it won't ever be used for anything else. Pour one gallon of antifreeze in it and then use the antifreeze container to put two gallons of water in. That is your mix and that should solve your overheating problem.

It is your water to antifreeze ratio like the others have said. Your 155 does not have a water pump.

You also have to make sure there are no obstructions in your radiator. Flush it out several times over.

"The radiator is good
I suspect the water pump."

How do you know the radiator is good? When tractors overheat, it's usually a plugged radiator, either inside or outside.

Watch the dust build up in the radiator core. If you back flush the core with a garden hose it should rinse the junk out. Be careful not to use to harsh of spray. You don't want to bend the cooling fins. Also, be sure that the engine is cool. Hope this helps.

thanks to everyone for the replies. i have removed the radiator and flushed it and the engine with clean water. and also replaced the antifreeze with the right mix and all seems to be working ok now. thanks for the help.

p.s. i never realized a radiator would work without a water pump.
neat little system!
