I am looking for someone who is familiar with the adjustment of the governor assembly on a YM1610D. I have the service manual for the YM226 and 220 but it is not clear on a couple of points in the adjustment procedure. Please contact me if you or someone you know is knowledgeable in the adjustment of this governor.

The governor is item-4 in the YM1610 parts manual. It rides in a channel. There is a setpin/setscrew to hold the 2 parts together.

The YM169 for the 3T72 Service Manual shows this

Thanks for your response. I have three remaining questions. First, do I make the adjustment with the throttle lever in the detent position or should the lever be all the way forward in the cutoff position? Second, the book I have indicates inserting different size spacers on the limiter screw depending on whether the limiter screw has a white paint mark or not. I do not see a paint mark and do not know where to look for it so I’m not sure which size spacer to use. How do I determine that? What would happen if I use the wrong size spacer? Finally, after adjusting the limiter screw to position the punch mark properly, the book then says to remove the spacer and screw the limiter 200 to 260 degrees out of the timing gear cover. If, following those directions, does that mean I will no longer see the punch mark in the same position that I adjusted it to?
