Haven't posted on here before and would like to say hello to every one.
I have a YM1700. I don't know how old it is but I recently overhauled the engine. It had a busted piston and the bearing were bad. I put rings, pistons, sleeves, bearing, seals and installed a water pump.
I have been trying to get the thing started. The compression is 480 in one cylinder and 500 in the other. I have bleed the fuel system as required. Actually several time to make sure. When I turn the engine over I get a little spert out of one fuel line and just wet out of the other. Not enough to even check the injectors. I even took the lines off at the fuel pump and there is barely any indication of fuel pressure / flow.
Now with all that behind me, is there anyone out there that has any experience in disassemble, assembly for the purpose of rebuilding the fuel pump? The pump I have is the banjo type. Don't think that makes any difference but just for more info.
I am familiar with mechanical work but have never fooled withe diesels.
Sure could use some good info and thanks.
