YM1700 and I am trying to get the lower bearing race out of the bottom of the steering box. Anyone done this before? Its in a bad spot and I have chiseled and pryed and can't seem to get it out. Thanks!

I followed the good advice of somebody on here, and welded a bead around the inside of the race. Upon cooling, the race shrunk and came right out.

Its out! I think I love you! Thanks bro. I was hesitant to weld in there in case I welded it in. Lol. Glad you encouraged that.

I got lucky, it splattered a little bit but nothing stuck. Probably all that PB Blaster and such I had in there.

generally the splatter dosent stick but i wouldnt want all those little beads in there anyway, my luck id weld through the race even on the low setting!
