I am looking for help. I have recently acquired this tractor. The three point lift for my YM1702D has quit. It is setup with the auxiliary hydraulic lift on one side. I was dinking with the auxiliary lift when it quit. The lower arms will not raise and the auxiliary lift remains in the fully extended (down) position.

I have read some of the posts and replaced the hydraulic filter and changed the fluid. The pump is at least working enoiugh to fill the filter.

Yes, the control valve is open. I have cycled this several times from closed to open in hopes that I could clear any obstruction.

Next steps????? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you were playing around with that tilt mechanism it could be that you have a switch that has gone bad on the control box.

At first I had thought that the switch may have went bad. Then I discovered the lower arms had quit working as well. I am not sure how the auxiliary hydraulics switch could stop the main arms from working. Is there a way that a malfunction in the auxiliary circuit could cause this?

If the tilt is fully extended under pressure, that would prevent the 3ph from raising. Can you bypass the hydraulics on the tilt, or unhook the cylinder to prove it, or can you raise the 3ph by hand?

There are two hydraulic taps for the tilt mechanism on the manifold under the seat. These are to the left of the "Open-Close" valve. The one furthest left is near to the raw high pressure inlet from the pump. While I can't tell what goes on inside the manifold, it would appear that this could be a raw high pressure tap to power the auxiliary tilt circuit independently of the lift.

I am not getting pressure at this point or the other front tap. This leads me to believe that I am not getting pressure from the pump. I have re-seated the filter and checked the condition of the hose links on the low pressure side to see if there is any apparent place that the pump could be sucking air. I found nothing. I tightened the hose clamps a little in case that was a problem from the hoses being dryed out. If the hoses are cracked it is not apparent to a visual inspection.

While I had one of the auxiliary hoses loose (tractor running) there was a sound like the pump was trying to work and some fluid burbled out.

Is there something special that needs to be done to assure that the pump is primed?

As a side note, there is power to the electric solenoid on the auxiliary hydraulic circuit and it appears to be working wiuth the solenoid moving in both directions.

YUP! That was it. The intake screen. I had not thought to do that, thinking that since this had the spin-on filter that it did not have a screen to clean. That's what I get for thinking!

It would have been much easer to do while I had the fluid out originally. Thanks for the input and sanity check everyone.
