Hello!

Today I received this picture from the girls driving the Yanmar 186D :

YM186 Oil leak.jpeg

Not good for 2 reasons: Oil leak and also, that is not the right color for oil at all!

So...

A couple days ago I was told the 4WD axle went loose and fell of:

Because of Covid quarantaine I wasn't able to fix it myself, but someone else did it and so far so good.

But the oil mess today cannot be coincidence if you ask me....

I also got a picture of the axle stub from earlier this week:

I see 2 things, the stub has gone a bit inwards the housing and also there is oil splash on the casing around.

Still in quarantaine, so Im not able to visit thee tractor myself.

What do you guys think of this? Pretty much oil for a leak istn it?

Any ideas/experiences on such leaks?

I hope to inspect the tractor myself within a couple of days.

Whatever that "spill" is, I don't think it is oil. I can't decide if it is mold, or frost.

I agree that the drive spline looks too far in, so I fear that you have some bigger issues inside.

Good luck.

All the best,

Peter

Not sure of your location, but our area has no quarantine restrictions whatsoever. :)

To help you visualize how all those parts go together, I've attached the YM186 Parts Manual.

I believe that he is in the Netherlands, which is rather buttoned down at the moment, but his post made it sound as if he personally is quarantined.

All the best,

Peter

If you were to ask my opinion that looks like oil and antifreeze mixed together. And the causes for that are multiple
