Hoyetractor in Texas has the best support for the gray market Yanmars. I don't know if this US version of YM1700D is identical.

Got it this way a number of years ago. The ring gear is very worn in must places, the pinion gear is also quite worn. No chipped teeth, and the wear appears to be in the center of the teeth. Looks like the guy just overworked the poor thing to death ...
