Can anyone provide me with the measurements/in between distances of the pre-drilled holes of a YM2000’s steel bumper?

Aaron you're a good man, I assume that's the distance from left holes to right holes but what's the distance between the top holes to bottom holes? I will be making an iron platform that I'll bolt to the fender and would like to pre-drill it before taking it to the property.

Thanks a bunch!

gcp,

I have made several attachments using the holes in the front bumper. You can use 2" masking (or duct) tape applied to the front bumper, and mark the rear holes (I use a Sharpie) and then transfer the whole new template to the metal and simply center punch the new marks to be transferred.

It works well.

BTW: There is no question of accuracy on Aaron's measurements.

I won't/can't quibble about the dimensions you've been given. But, I couldn't help but notice that they were fairly exact SAE measurements. I'd have expected them to be laid out on a metric scale and not be quite so close to major SAE graduations. But my expectations may have no basis in reality.

If you are planning to predrill, I'd strongly urge you to follow Aaron's advice to drill sufficiently oversize to cover tolerances both in the measurements you were given and in your layout of the hole centerlines.

Very true. I was using a regular old tape measure so if you are one of those "make it a press fit" type of person you may be disappointed.

Sounds like you may be doing something similar to what I did. I had a piece of 1/2" boiler plate cut to fit the bumper to hold 200# of suitcase weights. Measured and drilled the holes, (1/2" holes, but don't have the spacing), drove 1/2", grade 8 carriage bolts in for a "press fit". I highly recommend the "press fit" part if you are going to hang weights, to prevent loosening and shearing bolts. (I assume you meant "bolt to the bumper", instead of fender.)

Thanks guys, I'm on travel but as soon as I get home Friday I'll put all your suggestions to good use.
