Hello all, I've been happily using my YM2000 bush hogging around my property. One problem I've had is the front end gets light when I'm cutting on some of the hillsides. Does anyone have a recommendation on what type of weight to use? I've bought 2 75 pound weights from the local Kubota dealer but they don't quite fit, any suggestions?

Thanks Jason

make an adapter plate. I hung 2 50# ford suitcase weights on my ym1700 on an adapter that also had a 3' section of 6" pip on it capped and filled with concrete. just bolt that up front.. etc. be creative.. :)

On a ford 4600 i have I casted 4 disc weights for it out of concrete. worked great.. painted black looks like cast iron even.. :)

I have a 3" solid Stella bar up there that's about 38" s long welded to a 3" I.d. pipe filled with lead thas about 32"s long. Total weight for the 2 is prolly 175 pounds. It holds the front of my 2000 down pretty well. Perfect for a bush hog still not enough when I used my diskharrow ballested with a hundred plus pounds on it.

make yourself a home made bracket for the weights.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I like the look of your homemade weights Soundguy. Any idea what the 3' 6" pipe filled with concrete weighs?

Clemsonfor, you have any pics of your weight setup? Sounds like what I need.

Smoody, elevator weights sound like something for a Craigslist search.

Frankmako, I choose some weights for a Kubota after I noticed the (I believe) L3200 had a very similar looking front bumper these weights would probably work if i were to relocate one bracket a little higher

Yea i have pics. I posted them on here years ago before the site swapped formats. They did not migrate our "picture albums" over. I will see if i can dig up the old posts and see if the pics still appear in them.

I had them on my phone but they are on an old phone. Give me the rest of the day, i will get them up.

I would take more pics but the tractor is at my farm property...3 hours away.

OK, here is the initial post i made. This is just when the SOLID steel bar was up there, i later added the 3" lead filled pipe about 1 year later. It sits on same bracket welded above this bar, it is also shorter 2"s or so maybe more on each end.

Go to post #9 to see it.

Its a bit croked but i have repositioned the brackets to level it out more, but its not for looks but futionality.

Still will try and find a picture of how the both look.

EDIT: Looked on my computer here at work and found a picture where both weights are on in. Not the best pic but you can see it. I have better ones of the setup but you can get the idea with this one.

Thanks for posting that, it looks like you used the existing holes in the bumper to attach the brackets for your weights, I like it! Nice looking tractor.
