Those are nearly the same engine, with identical displacement and mostly interchangeable parts.
Some math: 21.7hp @ 2600 x 2400/2600 = 20.030 hp @ 2400 rpm.
Looks to me they increased the rated hp due to Yanmar upgraded the cooling or something else minor to allow wide open throttle at higher rpm. Maybe they just discovered that higher rpm didn't hurt these indestructible engines.
YM2210D is heavier by a few hundred lbs and Powershift makes it far better getting a heavy load moving. I wish I could find one.
