Can someone tell me what size fitting to look for when purchasing a gauge upgrade. Mechanical or electrical gauges? Any particular brand work better/fit? I was looking at the tri gauge setup from good ole autozone. Thanks!
Do a search of the Yanmar forum, and you'll find several very informative threads on this subject. Most prefer mechanical, Sunpro makes a metric adapter kit that will connect their gauge to your 2000...even if you want guages instead of gauges. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (as if I'VE never misspelled it before!)
I managed to find the sunpro adapter kit for the oil sender and am happy to say it works nicely. The ole girl is running at about 32 psi @ 1000 rpm idle. Unfortunately I can not locate the adapter kit for the temp sending unit. I am going to attempt to locate just a bushing/adapter from napa or something. Looking good so far!
If I remember right; when I installed the gauges on my 1700 the adapter for the oil was seperate from the temp. I had several adapters left over out of the pack for the oil and the adapter for the temp was by itself. I got everything from Autozone for about $50 (gauges and adapters) and would think that the same adapters would be used for the 2000.
