This is the layout of the axle. The bearings are a press fit to the axle shaft and the housing. You will need to remove the axle shaft and the bearings to replace the seal. You will have to have access to a press to get it done.
Step 1. Remove the wheels and strip the fenders off of the tractor.
Step 2. Unbolt the bolts around the outside of the axle housing and remove the housing.
Step 3. Remove the four bolts that hold the seal housing to the axle.
Step 4. Remove the the snap-ring on the bull gear and lift it off.
Step 5. Support the axle housing and press the axle through the housing. The axle will come out of the housing with the outer bearing and seal attached to the axle.
Step 6. Press the bearing off and remove the seal housing and replace the seal.
Step 7. Install the seal hosing and press the bearing back onto the axle shaft.
Step 8. Position the housing to press the axle back into the housing. Inset the axle and press it until the seal housing is flush with the axle housing.
Step 9. Turn the housing axle over in the press supported by the axle/wheel flange to finish the assembly.
Step 10. Inset the spacer tube.
Step 11. Place the bearing onto the shaft.
Step 12. Set the bull gear on the bearing.
Step 13. Using a socket that will fit over the shaft, press the bull gear and bearing into place.
Step 14. Place the bull gear snap ring on the axle shaft.
Step 15. Install the axles.
Step 16. Bolt the rest of the beast back together.....
Have Fun!!
