My Yanmar 2200 will crank while trying to start and then the starter will slow down then begin to smoke. It will not start up and I since then havnt used it. The light colored smoke will come from the top of the starter basically around the section I think is the stater solenoid thing. Do yall think it is the starter burning out or the solenoid that is built on the starter? Can I take it to a Autozone or autopart store to have them check it? I wasnt sure if they can test these type of yanmar starters. I am hoping its not the starter since the cost is high on these things. Any help will be appreciated ..Thanks
