Hi All, I`ve owned a YM2200 for 12 years, and now it`s getting sick, so I need a source for cyl. liners, pistons, rings, and gaskets. Not an issue, but the last five digits in the eng. and frame numbers do not match, are they supposed to on Yanmar? Also I have a chance to buy a YM3000, which I know nothing about. I`m sure it`s a rebuild, so what I look out for? Thanks in advance, this is a fantastic site, and you guys really seem to know Yanmar.

Try Hoye, ie the sponser at the top of the page here. I am getting my parts thru him on my old ym135 that is being rebuilt. Mike

I like my 3000, great basic tractor. Mine was a rebuild to, quite a few bugs to work out but Hoye always was able to ship parts and often these cost less than my JD 950. Have a Koyker 160 loader on the front and it handles it well with full buckets of rock. A little caution though, loader will lift more than the tractor should have. Think it will lift over 1500 lbs. If you had a chance at a 3110 think you would like it a little better, but a 3000 is a good basic tractor.

Thanks for the reply Chris.I won`t be using the 3000 for anything except to pull a woods 6 ft. mower on 3 acres. The area is pretty much open, do you think the 3000 is too big for a yard this size? I have not seen the tractor yet,but in the picture,it looks brand new.Does $5500 sound fair?

I paid $4900 back in 3/04. Think you will be fine with the tractor for that use, but you may wish to reconsider the mower size. Tractor has plenty of power for a 6' but I think you may wish you had a 5' for weight only. 5' mower is wider than the footprint of the tractor by just a little. I notice that when the front end loader is removed you can feel the weight transfer when the 5' is lifted. With a 6' you may need weights in front. Another thing is that the tractor handles and steers better with the FEL off. I'm going to assume that adding weights to the front would degrade the steering same as having the FEL on mine. Best thing to do, if it isn't to much trouble, is to take the tractor to the dealer and try them both on, drive them around lifted, that will tell you right away what I'm talkeing about. If you can't do that, my money would be with a 5'. TSC usualy has both in stock and would be more than worth a drive over with the tractor to give both a try. I have all 5' implements for the 3000 and all run well on it. The 5' howard tiller seams to need the most power and even it does well. If I could change one thing it would be the landscape rake, I'd go to 6' on that, no load and very light weight. I also have a JD 950 and all implements fit and run well on that one. Be sure and post what happens.
Chris
