I have a 2310 that I am trying to find the emblem for the upper bezel around the headlights. I was able to get the bezel from Aaron, but he didn't have anything else and can't get it. I talked to Leonard at Shaeffer and he also can't get the emblems. It is a problem with this being a grey market tractor and Yanmar will not ship any parts to the US that supports these tractors. If we could identify an American model that had the same front hood and grille emblems, we could use those part numbers and buy them until the world looked flat. Kubota has gone the same kind of crazy and now is requiring that you furnish both a model number and tractor serial number to buy any parts. If you can't supply the numbers, they will not sell you the parts. My tractor is 27 years old and how can that be a threat to anyone. What I hear is that there is a lawsuit by Yanmar dealers against Yanmar-Japan that burns them if they support any of the grey market tractors.
My understanding is that these tractors like mine were used tractors in Japan and were exported to used dealers here and elsewhere and never pawned off as being a new tractor. I do not understand the thing and it really rankles me to be caught in a situation like this. I have needed other mechanical parts and have no problem getting them. Just the decorative things that make it look better and more like factory that are difficult to obtain. Bad deal and I think it would be enough for me to tell the "authorized" dealers like "K" and even new "Y" dealers to shove it and I will buy something else.
