My thermostart plug is bad. There is power but no heat. I want to replace it but none I have found look like mine. All the new ones are much shorter. Mine has some sort of can shaped thing that has a fitting for the tube from the reservoir sticking out. This can also has a green wire going into it. All the other ones I have seen for sale don't have this. They just have fitting coming out the back of the hex. And no green wire, just a spade or screw connection for the 12 volts. Mine has the green wire and the 12 volt spade connection. Can I just use the types available now?
Thanks,
Eric

TE-9350 2310 Thermo plug is different? Yours show very few models the 9350 is used on. Call Fredricks the Parts show they have it.

Yeah, it looks different. None that I have seen look the same. I'll need to call someone. Every one I have seen uses only one wire and doesn't have the can hanging off of the back. With the green wire coming out. I suspect that the device has been simplified, I think the can contains some sort of solenoid coil that operates the valve that lets the fuel through. It looks like all the ones made today work differently, using only heat to open the valve.
Prices are all over the place too, for what appears to be the exact same part. From 245 bucks (but out of stock) to about 12 bucks. Shipping varies a bunch too. I don't mind paying for the correct part from Fredricks or Hoye but I do mind is when they want to sell me the exact same part for much more and with high shipping. When I say exact same part I mean the same part number and same picture. Used by Hoye, Fredricks, eBay, and Amazon.
Thanks,
Eric

It's a wild ride finding the part.

Looking at the YANMAR YM2310 PARTS MANUAL NPC-1181.pdf,
