YM2310

I can't find hardly ANY info on the Yanmar YM2310. Does anyone out there own one? Is there good parts support for this model? WOULD YOU CHOOSE THE 2310 OVER THE 2010? Is there any pictures anywhere on the 2310? Does it have a similar U.S. model "cousin"? Will it be able to handle a 5ft bush hog and box blade, or just stick with 4ft implements? Help!!! I'm fixing to buy a tractor!

The 2310 is close to the YM276. Shuttle shift transmission. 25 (approx) engine HP. Made from '80 to '82. I dont think parts are a problem. I know there are several older posts from the last year in the search section of Yanmar.

It should handle just about any 5' implement. And choosing between one or the other would just be about the condition of the tractor....hours and maintenance history

Thanks for replying.....I did the search you was telling me about. I am pretty sure now that the YM2310 is almost identical to the U.S. version YM276.

Being that the 2310 is powershift, do I have to put automatic trans. fluid to the transmission, or JD 303?

I think that the transmission and hydraulics have the same lubrication don't they? In other words, I don't have to fill the transmission with one type of fluid, and then the hydraulics with another?

Is the 'powershift' considered to be part of this also?

The reason I am asking these questions is because I have never been on a Yanmar with a powershift transmission.

Does it have a hydraulic screen filter that can be cleaned, or is there a filter that you replace, like the engine oil filter?

Use the JD303! The 2310 is a super tractor. You don't see much posted on here about them, but they are out there. 5ft implements are not a problem for the 2310. You will love the Powershift.

Does the 2310 have a 3 or 4 speed P.T.O?

IS THE P.T.O. LEVER ON THE LEFT SIDE DOWN AT THE BOTTOM, LIKE THE YM2000?

I have a 2310. It has a 4 speed PTO lever is down to the left. I use a 5' bush hog, 5' tiller, and 6' finish mower. When I built my workshop, I extended the boompole I had with 2x6's and 2x8's . I used this like a crane to lift 33' roof trusses up on 10' walls by myself. Made the job easy, the tractor held the truss while I positioned them.

Thanks for the replies and the pictures. By the looks of the pictures, the 2310 must be a pretty strong tractor.

I also didn't know it could handle 5ft implements. Does it get 'light' in the front end?

Do you have filter cross-over reference numbers? (Air, Fuel, Oil, Hydraulic Filters)

I use Yanmar filters, I buy mine from a dealer, Any dealer on the board would be able to help. They are all currently available. Also a search of old threads has the cross references, but I prefer orginial filters if possible because I know they will fit and work to yanmar specs.
As for front end weight I have about 400 lbs up front, Fredicks imported mine and they make a weight that bolts on the plate up front . I live up the road from his dad (that's where I got mine) and the weight was already on the tractor. With 5' attachments the front end stays down, but the front has come up trying to pick up too much weight with the boom, wheelies can be interesting with a big block motor on the boom. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
