Here are some more pictures The front weight is a section of a dock bumper with the bottom 4" channel boxed in full of concrete, plus the two 8x8x16 blocks. that seems to be the right weight to keep the front end on the ground when I have the chipper attached.
Those weights were on the tractor when my brother parked it here 5 years ago. I replaced one of the 12.4-24 tires on the rear, Taking the wheel weight off wasn't so hard, putting the weight back on was an adventure, I wound up using a bucket fork on my other tractor to help. Yes, the chips go on the ground which is a little inconvenient, but I feed for awhile then, cautiously drag chips away, or move the tractor a few feet. The chipper part does a good job on green stuff, not so good on anything hard, the shredder works great, but you have to be VERY careful , once the knives catch the goods they're gone. I just turned the blades over at the end of last season & there is a huge difference with the sharp blades. Thanks for the advice on the stop valve, I did fashion a new friction washer on the 3 point control arm and it seems to be holding better (normed gave me some good info also).
