Tractor
Yanmar YM240
I'm wondering how I did. I posted about my new tractor here.

I've added a few pics here for convenience.

Hour meters reads 3xx, but who knows.

She's super clean. Got it with a 4ft finish mower.

I paid $2900. When the guy offered to deliver it to my property an hour away, I figured there was no way I could try and haggle with him. But now I'm wondering if I should just flip this thing? (I really don't want to!)

What's the "best condition" price for one of these? This thread really got my wheels spinning! Your thoughts? Thanks!

I think you got quite a deal. The tractor is certainly in excellent shape and if it meets your needs I'd keep it. I recently purchased a YM240D with loader for $2300, but it's no where near as clean as yours.

My honest opinion of the fellow with the "museum" quality tractor is that he's got $$ in his eyes and will be lucky to get 1/2 what he's asking. It's been for sale for months so the pool of buyers must be pretty small, however it only takes one. You can read all the different opinions over on that thread and some folks who's opinions I value make a case for why that particular machine might be considered collectible. I'm not an enthusiasts so those arguments don't work for me. However, I don't think the same argument can be made for the YM240 (yours or mine) so even if those arguments hold for his machine I doubt they hold for this model.

I bought a Yanmar because they are dependable, there's good support for them, they aren't too hard to work on, and it was the best I could afford right now.

Just my $0.02....

Keep it!!! Get it back Org. working condition and it will pay for itself. That's what I did. I gave 2800.00 for my 2000 8yrs. ago. repaired everything for 150$ my time and it's still runs and operates trouble free. Oh! 75.00$ of that 150 was rebuilding my Starter. I noticed you have a new after market.

I should have mentioned that it IS in excellent working condition. All I have to do is fix the throttle!

I forgot to mention while your working on your throttle may consider replacing your Radiator Bottle. I always look at mine. The clear plastic work great. It's easy to see the water level cold and how high it risen on a hot summer day. Also you can see the color of the Antifreeze and get a good Idea how dirty it is etc..

You stole that thing! Great condition could be 300 hours but I am sure its not more than 1300 looking at it!
