I'm the guy that bought the 273. I don't think I had ever heard of grey market before i got it home and started to look for parts. i think it's a vietnam thing because all the tires are from vietnam. It had 4 problems that i am aware of.
1. the shifter yolk slider rod for 1st & 2nd was broken makeing a new one from drill rod was easy.
2. the king pin bushings are badly worn and i could use some help finding replacements.
3. the chargeing system is dead if i don't get it figured out by winter it will emerge in the spring with a ford alternator.
4. right steering brake grabs and growls.
I can only guess about horse power but my guess is 17-20.
I payed $3500. for it if your laughing that's fine.

The 173 seen in a previous post is sure a weird looking machine. I suspect the 273 is similar. Almost anything will get resposnses here and the lack of them suggests to me that the 173 and 273 are unusual machines. Yanmar US isn't any help because they have essentially tried to disavow any relationship with grey market tractors (even to the point of certified letters to their dealers not to supply parts for greys). We suspect it is because these tractors don't have the safety features required in the US and that they must have lost a lawsuit because of tacit support with parts and info. Let us know what you find out. A parts manual would help alot even if its in Japanese (the part numbers are in Arabic numbers and a picture is a picture). Once you know the part number, some of the members here can try to help with parts.

I don't know if they have lost a lawsuit but I know for a fact that they have a suit pending against them that involves a grey market tractor.

It is very different than the 173. It is very much like a real tractor except it is scaled down in size.
