Hey there, had my 336 for almost a year and can’t shake the feeling that the 3 point doesn’t lift as it should. I’ll pull the lever 2/3 of the way up before it bring up whatever’s attached. This is the model with position and draft control, neither mode seems to make much of a difference. I grew up on a 1610D and maybe my perception is just off as a result, that thing lifts high and immediately! There is the turn dial under the seat that adjusts something but I was under the impression that is just the speed at which the system reacts but maybe it’s relative? I’m leery to start cranking that dial as I know it can cause damage if closed and the lift is operated.

I have multiple manuals and can’t find anything about this in any of them.

Thanks, from Oregon!

I don't think the stop valve or slow return valve has much to do with your problem. But for what it is worth the stop valve should be wide open. There is a small lever on top of the control valve that regulates drop speed. #68 here. Does your tractor have a loader and or power steering?

Morning,
I do have that lever and a loader. The loader is a YFL 1500 as far as I’ve been told. It’s been repainted so there are no badges but looks identical to what I’ve seen in photos. It also has power steering which leaks a small amount at the base of the column.
Thanks!

what do your multiple manuals consist of? Am I correct in thinking the 3 point has never worked correctly since you acquired it or is something new?

I have the operations manual and the service manual, both from Hoye. It has been this way since I got the tractor.

I値l pull the lever 2/3 of the way up before it bring up whatever痴 attached.

The upper lift arms are not moving until the control lever is to that 2/3 position or just the implement does not get off the ground until about that point? I have seen where the upper lift arms were removed and not resplined at the correct angle so the lift didn't raise far enough. Also the closer the side links are attached to the front of the lower lift arms the faster the lift will move and will have more travel at the ends (but will also have less lifting capacity). It could be that the 1610 had the side links positioned differently making it respond faster.

Hi Hoye,

I lift the lever 2/3 before the arms move up. With a Woods RC5 mower attached I actually have to adjust the top link in transit to keep the tail wheel from dragging. Maybe it’s not lifting up as far as it should, lending credit to the misalignment theory. I’ll attach some photos letter this afternoon/evening for reference.

Thanks all!

It could also be that the feedback rod has come loose or is out of adjustment making the valve 'think' the lift is higher than it really is.

Aaron, Nice. I've slightly adjust that feedback rod on my YM2610. It had a bit of play in it. The more the play, the longer it would take for the lift arms to respond and move. It was only a few turns. Since having the machine from Fredrick's, vibration may have backed the nuts off. I did see where they were on the threads to the feedback rod and moved them back there. To keep everything nice, I then used a nylok nut to keep it from moving again.

I can see how the OPs posting for 2/3rds lever movement could be related to the feedback rod. My machine lost about 1/4 of travel. And in a similar event, it was related to the mower lifting too. Plus, if I made the top-link in the shorter length along with it mounted in the top attachment holes to the tractor, it would raise the mower high enough not to drag. A short top-link is how these YM machines got the rice tillers lifted so high as well. The trick is how one has to set a 4x4 post lengthwise on the ground for the back of the mower to rest upon. This added tilt allows the compact tractor to 3PT hookup and makes the shorten top-link to attach. That's my trick in getting it all to work.
