I could use one of those (JEEP)
York rake behind a jeep, looking for some thoughts.

My Idea: A 12volt pump powering a dual action piston, 2 or 3 way valve with float. Mounting cylinder to the top of the rake and traingulating supports off of the lower points.
I would like to mount the cylinder higher for ease of attachment points as well as keeping the pump inside the Jeep.
Ultimately just want them to raise up and down apply a small amount of down pressure when neccessary as well as float for final scrapes. Only other added benefit would be holding capacity of the cylinder in the up position for some other bad ideas later down the road.
Any suggestions on pumps? cylinders? valves? or any other better ideas in general.
I would mount them on a tractor if had one these implements where left behind left bhind at a home I just purchased.

Just this weekend I got behind a twp truck pulling a wheeled york rake grading a Forrest road.

It had a axle behind it and 3 levers on it it looked if it would tilt side to side and lift up the angle looked to be fixed and a regular pintle hitch on the front.

I would look at some thing like this or rig it up like that then it could be towed by about any thing.

Some time back I saw a video ad for a rake on the FRONT of a truck/jeep/tractor. Had wheels in front of the rake and it mounted to a snowplow frame. Raising/lowering the plow cylinder affected the depth of the rake. Looked like a slick setup. One line I remember from their pitch is "Rake fast and rake often". Referring to maintenance of dirt roads.

I have heard of the plow style ones as well, and I do have a plow setup. I am hoping for a higher lifting angle then those can offer. Jeeps being so short also have counterweight issues pretty quick with to much wieght up front.

It is also a wheel less landpride rake, and a scraper they are not "york". with a good set up was going to invest in a scarifier as well.

I have a 53 willy's jeep in the shop in the middle of a rebuild with a pto and a 3 point on it
an old farmer friend used to use to pull a swather and used it in the last of its life to run a grain auger off the pto
easy on fuel and you could get home at 50 mph (ok at 50 the easy on fuel goes out the window)

Before Land Rover became a status symbol it was a real work vehicle with a hole in the rear bumper for a driveshaft to run things like mowers and balers, and places to hitch actual farm equipment. I had a 1960 LR and it could be used much like a tractor.

There are no adapters to fit willy's transfercases with pto's into the newer wranglers. but those old jeeps came with all sorts of farming attachments on them. Thats how they kept the brand alive after the war.

See the Web page in my signature for some history of the "Farm Jeep". One of the "features" of the early jeep was the gas tank under the driver's seat which left room in the rear for the PTO shaft and even the lift.

I wonder if anyone here has built a tow behind 3pt lift like the one on this page CadPlans Corporation - 3 Point Hitch. I built a portable hydraulic pump that I can throw in the bed of the jeep that I use with my dump wagon.

I had already looked at FarmJeep and loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to work for a shop specializing in jeeps. I had even been in contact with them trying locate an old Stratton system to modify. Unfortantely New Hampshire is the heart of the rust belt so rare becomes really rare here. Used to have an old 67 Kaiser M715 5/4 ton truck with gaint pto's and pumps all over it. Kinda wish I still had that right now. Always nice to see another "JEEP" or "WILLY'S" restorer.
