I realized something as I was walking to the house after getting off my 1720 Ford at 10 til 7 this evening. Since I have found this board and all the great ideas and useful attatchments I have burned 13 gallons of gas in my Miller Bobcat 225G welder. Anyone with a portable welder knows that's an awful lot of welding!!! But the things I've made have come in sooooo handy. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks guys for all the great ideas.

Makes me wonder how I ever managed before I found this place./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

The latest attatchment I found here has proved to be the most useful in clearing all these oak saplings. I was reading back on some old posts and kept seeing mention of a Brush Brute. It looked like a good idea so I made one, but the one I made is for the 3pt hitch instead of the FEL arms. Best darned thing I ever did!!!! IT works like a dream and once I get the trees uprooted, I can use the rake I made to go in the front bucket to pile the stuff. Best thing is the small amount of ground disturbance that pulling the trees up by the roots gives, rather than pushing them over and then pushing them up with the bucket.

I'll get some pics in the next day or two and post them so you guys can see.

Happy tractoring!!!!

I'm impressed. The last time I welded was in ag 30 years ago. About 33 years ago I was on a farm mechanics team. Three of us came out onto the concrete floor of a shop with our electic (Lincoln 225) welder, table, stools, etc. We each had a little speech to go along with our type of weld. We furnished helmets to the judges and they watched us weld each type of weld, then we cleaned off the flux and let them look them over while we continued our speeches. The we cleaned up and got our stuff out of there in the alloted time. We won first place and went to state and got 3rd or 4th I think. I think I did a T weld while the other two guys did a butt weld and a lap weld.

Even if I could remember arc welding I probably couldn't engineer the stuff you guys come up with.

I like that rake setup for the bucket, simple yet functional! Please post a picture of the brush rake that you made. I've got one in planning but, thats as far as I've gone with it thus far.
