I did the same thing with a loader ram on a Case 580 lifting out a " loose " abandon telephone pole. Only ruined one ram, barrel was checked and reused. It came out like a piece of spagetti bending like a pretzel. The ram was half extended so it was at its weakest point. It would have been better to use the hoe to dig along side ( hindsite ).

For some reason I always assumed the rods would break before they bent that much. I guess not!!

One good thing about it... They don't have to worry about that cylinder rollin' around in their pickup's bed as they haul it to the repair shop.

With a man lift, I was thinking you would rather have it bent than break.
