After reading the tree moving thread elsewhere on this site, I had to share this. Moving a 249 TON tree /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif....pretty amazing (and expensive!).

I've moved a few trees, but never anything that big! I'll be surprised if it lives though. The root ball looks big enough in diameter, but not nearly deep enough. The rule I was told by a pro tree mover is that you should have 1/2 foot depth per inch dia of trunk. The article said it was a 27" dia trunk, so the root ball should be about 13' deep!
