Young chicken with a problem

I've been using Scratch n' Peck's Starter. You've got a good point there though, I'll try some supplements for a bit and see if it changes anything.

I realize there's some of you shaking your heads at me trying to fix a cockerel, but part of this is concern about the rest of the young flock - if this is illness or food related, I could expect any of the others to have the same thing happen (though there's obviously variation between birds, and assuming it's not injury). I'm also inquisitive and like to know why, it becomes a problem to solve.

Shaking our heads? Trying to aid a injured animal isn't something to be ashamed of, sure chickens are cheap but they are deserving of care and respect.

Chickens are some of the mistreated and neglected animals out there from what I have seen, they have more complex needs then people realize.

If they haven't already, they will turn into pets, my fav chicken is a rooster, he's so aware, he minds me when I tell him something and he runs away when I catch him doing something he shouldn't lmao, like leading 6 or 7 other hens into my barn when it's open, for whatever reason they dart in there when I open it up and they look for food. I walk in, point outside and tell them all to leave, that rooster leads them out and usually they all leave, occasionally one dumb hen gets confused and runs in circles in the barn.

He knows his name, if I say it he will raise his head and watch me closely, he's more intelligent then I thought a chicken would be. He's a turken, was given to me for free from Murray McMurray when I ordered chicks a few years ago. He's by far my best rooster and by far my best and smartest chicken I have, he's also the only chicken I named, I have always called him turken.

That pic was over a year ago, he's the one to the far left. He's prob the only chicken I will miss when there gone.
